Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy has for years worked closely within the United Nations system. LCNP serves as the UN Office of the International Association of Lawyers Against Nuclear Arms (IALANA), which holds special consultative status as a non-governmental organization with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

LCNP annually monitors the UN First Committee, and you can find links to our prepared remarks, in writing and video, delivered to the Committee below. We monitor the Security Council and engage with Council representatives directly on nuclear security and disarmament issues through our membership in the NGO Working Group on the Security Council. In addition, LCNP regularly makes submissions to human rights bodies within the United Nations, including the Human Rights Council and Human Rights Committee. You may find our work in this realm both below and under our Nuclear Policy - Human Rights page. Finally, LCNP also advocates in the NPT and TPNW forums. More information on these treaties is available under the Nuclear Policy - TPNW/NPT pages.
